We use repression, Freud\u2019s Defense Mechanisms, to put our evil thoughts, feelings, urges in the unconscious sea and hoping this can help us to live a life to please God. But those thoughts, feelings and urges are still driving and controlling us. They come out of us unconsciously and that is why we are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. We are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful according to Roman 1:29-30. <\/p>\n
The repressed feelings, urges burst out and suppress the \u201choliness\u201d we strive to maintain. We know God\u2019s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, Roman 1:32, but we cannot help us to avoid God\u2019s death penalty. <\/p>\n
Freud’s mental structural model consists of the three parts: ID, EGO and SUPER-EGO. ID operates at the unconscious level with Sex and Death drives; the ego will try to satisfy the ID in a socially acceptable way; the super-ego is responsible for ensuring moral standards are followed. ID is the driving core and we all have a corrupted ID because of the sin.
